Intercarn

Intercarn is an organisation which attends to everything associated with the issuing of a carnet. Arranging the formalities through Intercarn is the most economical and efficient method of obtaining a carnet.

Carnet documentation is a simple customs procedure for temporary admission of goods into a foreign country, and is the means by which import formalities are expedited and minimised.

Intercarn provides the total service. All you have to do is complete the following application form and a carnet can be issued within hours.

The Chamber of Commerce requires a monetary bond to be lodged with them whilst the carnet is being used. The amount is dependent upon the import duty and tax rates of the countries being visited. Intercarn also offers legal advice on all customs procedures, international freight forwarding and assistance whilst you are overseas through our offices in major cities of the world. Intercarn will look after you and your best interests from the time you leave Australia until you return.

The carnet document consists of two vouchers for each country you wish to visit. You hand one voucher to the foreign Customs when you arrive in the country and the other when you leave. There are also two vouchers for presentation to our own Customs when departing and returning. You do not need to travel with the goods, they can be sent independently. A single carnet enables goods to pass through an unlimited number of countries for one year.

The countries which recognise a Carnet are:

Algeria, Australia, Austria, Belgium/Luxembourg, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech and Slovakian Republics, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, (including French possessions), Germany, Gibralta, Greece, Hungary, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Lebanon, Macedonia, Malaysia, Malta, Mauritius, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Senegal, Singapore, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, United Kingdom and USA.
